Janet Davis Memorial Scrabble TournamentIt was a 'Scrabble players bonanza' Sunday with a large selection of prizes donated by local merchants for the 7th annual Janet Davis Memorial Scrabble Tournament held at the Bicknell Bed and Breakfast. Only 4 players participated and along with some outside donations raised $130 for the National Kidney Foundation. The winner was Ron Ackman for his 2nd tournament win, Wilma Kitchens and Ruthie Strong tied for 2nd and Charlie Strong was 4th.

Winners and their prizes were:

Ron Ackman, Bicknell, Lowes t-shirt and cap; Shotgun cleaning kit, Smith Bowhunting and Taxidermy; Silk Flower, Websters Greenhouse; Oil change, Johnsons Auto; Pizza, bread stix and movie, Caseys; 2 free drinks, Main St Pub; Mothers Day Card, BP Convienience Mart; 2 Spaghetti Dinners, Cabellos; $15 worth of tanning, Sun Spot Baby Salon; 2 Wed nite buffets, Max and Sara Kixmiller, Elks.

Charlie Strong, Corydon, Knox Co Ins and Treasure Hunt Gifts, 2 gift sacks; Scented Candle, Petal Pushers Flower Shop; Gift Sack, Family Pharmacy; Colts glass holders and key chains, Regions Bank; $20 Gift Cert, Mullins Supply and Carhartt; Candle, New Roads Gift Shop; Car Wash Concentrate, M&K Napa.

Outside cash donations were Koenig Electric $25; Brenda Gibson, $5. Thanks also to Sara Kixmiller for a Janet Davis cake for the participants.
